Help Build Permanent Housing Solutions in Our Community

Kate's Rest Foundation is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join its Board of Directors as the organization enters an exciting period of growth and impact.

Kate’s Rest Foundation provides permanent housing and supportive community for individuals who were previously homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through compassion, dignity, and practical support, the Foundation is creating safe, stable places where people can rebuild their lives and reconnect with community.

As a Board Director, you will play a meaningful role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, strengthening governance, supporting fundraising initiatives, and helping expand the Foundation’s long-term impact across Ontario.

We Are Seeking Individuals With Experience In:

  • Governance and board leadership
  • Fundraising and donor development
  • Finance, accounting, or legal expertise
  • Housing, social services, or mental health sectors
  • Marketing, communications, and digital media
  • Construction, property development, or facilities management
  • Community partnerships and corporate relations
  • Human resources or organizational development

Lived experience connected to housing insecurity, homelessness, caregiving, or community advocacy is also highly valued.

Director Responsibilities

Board Directors are expected to:

  • Attend regular board meetings (virtual and/or in-person)
  • Participate on committees or special projects as needed
  • Support fundraising and community engagement initiatives
  • Act as ambassadors for the Foundation within the community
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organizational oversight
  • Uphold the mission, values, and governance responsibilities of the organization

  • Able to contribute time, expertise, and professional networks
  • Interested in helping scale a growing charitable organization

Term & Commitment

  • Volunteer Board Director position
  • Initial term: 1 year (renewable)
  • Approximately 4–8 hours per month commitment
